He retired three years ago and got right into Sports Talk Radio and working for Fox,

former NFL offensive lineman who loves his Oregon Ducks.

California kid, went to Oregon, had a great career. So let's start with this. Mario Cristobal leaves Oregon. Are you better today? I mean, I'm upset, right? You never want your coach to leave to go somewhere else. And I thought he did a great job recruiting. I know he did a great job recruiting. He won 10 games, the last two full seasons. We've had the Pac-12 conference. He won a Pac-12 championship. He won Rose Bowl. Like, we've done a lot of winning beat Ohio State this year. So obviously, I don't want to see a coach go, especially so close to a recruiting cycle and a signing day. And he did a great job of bringing talent in but this

went on for four days now i'm glad we have an we have an end uh an end resolution now and

we're going to find another coach the one thing connell say is this people seem um resigned to the

fact that mario was the only reason organ has ever won we've got we've had four coaches win 10

games the last 15 years we've had three coaches go to Rose Bulls in the last nine years. We played in a playoff game and a championship game with two separate coaches. Like to act that like Oregon now is done and will never win again, it's kind of silly. We won 10 games when Pete Carroll was there. We won in 2007, our best team we probably had with Dennis Dixon. We beat USC that year. We would have played a title game that year as well. So to act like Oregon can't win it all because Mario's gone is really silly to me. Now there's rumors. I heard it over the weekend from somebody close to Oregon that Chip Kelly is going to get a phone call. A, are you okay with that? B, do you think he'd leave? Do you think it's a good idea? I'd be okay with it if Chip invested more on the defensive side of the ball because the defense at UCLA, they had 11 seniors this season. That defense got torn apart for most of the year. So if he is able to invest and use Oregon's resources to get himself a top flight defensive coordinator. I'd be in on it.

I'd be for hearing Chip Kelly, and they're obviously offensively. I think there's some concerns with just the lack of development of Dorian Thompson Robinson. But obviously, he'll have better players at Oregon. He'll be able to recruit better at Oregon. I'd be open to hearing that. I'm not sure that's the best option at the moment. but Oregon needs to find a coach, hopefully that does two things.

One can keep up the recruiting that Mari has, but two can stay at Oregon, right? We've hired now Willie Taggart and Mark Cristobel, two guys whose dream jobs were in Florida. So we need to find someone who is going to stay at Oregon, whether that is Chip Kelly, whether it is a Wilcox or Dave Randa, someone who's going to stay there and build something for more than four years.
