One of things is interesting, uh, Whitlock, we're talking with Jason Whitlock. I'm Clay Travis. Whitlock joined us a lot of time on Monday.

Um, last time we talked was actually Tuesday and we were getting ready for the interview with the president of the United States. Obviously, it was a big week for outkick across the board last week.

What do you think about how that, uh, how that ended up going down for for outkick in terms of the impact that we had?

I mean, it was amazing how much coverage and attention that interview got. Yeah, it, it, and I thought, though I was on the day of you were on Tuesday last week. Yeah, you were on the day he came home.

Cause I'm trying to remember what we talked about in private, what we talked about on air, but Clay, the most I just thought you sounded so incredibly comfortable, confident and not pandering.

And again, it's not like you didn't hit him with a bunch of tough political questions because one, that's not the right lane for you to be in and for him coming on a sports talk show.

So he's doing you a huge favor. You're going to be respectful. You're going to try to ask him some questions, pertinent to the sports world. I thought you did that. And so yeah, I just, I thought it was incredible.

Um, you know, I, as you and I talked in private after her, just like, I thought we were off to a really hot start. And I was like, Hey, how are we going to do better than what we've been doing? And then boom.

President Trump says, yeah, I'll come on Clay's radio. It's like sticking the landing and really solidifying our brand. And some people hear that as old, the brand is pro Trump or conservative. No, the brand is we matter.

Yeah. And that's the lane you want to be in where you actually matter. And to have the governor of Texas on last week.

You know, I don't know if we should say this, but we went to dinner with the governor of Tennessee last week.

Yes. Josh Holly, uh, Congressman out of Missouri. You're out of Missouri. Yeah.

It's like we matter. And that's what's most important. I think that kind of sticks the landing and just plants are flag.

You know, President Trump feels like, you know, out kickers of platform where he needs to be heard.

That kind of submits our reputation is and brand is this place is important. So tremendous week last week.

Yeah. And I'll just go ahead and mention it. So you mentioned it. Um, we you and I and with the governor and the chief of staff here in Tennessee. We had a nice dinner with him on Tuesday afternoon in downtown Nashville.

Um, and I just think the amount of people taking note of what we are building at out kick is pretty fantastic. Now with that can come some media attention.

And, uh, and that media attention, you know where I'm going here. Have you heard from the Washington Post yet? I haven't even asked you that they said no.

No, no, I don't anticipate I'm not a particular fan of that writer. And so I don't think he's going to call me because he knows I'm going to deal with him very directly.

Uh, and so you told me he was going to be reaching out. But my expectations were very low. I won't be here for that. That guy knows that I know that he's a liar and dishonest and, uh, so I'll be shocked if I hear him.
