Rick Riz has been calling games with the Mariners.

51 seasons calling professional baseball games.

A few of those with the Tigers, a few in the minor leagues.

And there was a part of me that was going to lead here and say, but this will be the last time we get to talk to him in spring training because we do it every year and we sit with Rick and we get to catch up on his shoe game and everything else that's going on in Rick's world. And I was going to say this will probably be the last time we do this. And I just don't believe it. No. Not because Rick is retiring. I believe that. And I know at the end of the year he's going to step away. I don't believe that there's a chance he's not here next year. He's going to come to spring training. What else is I get? He's definitely coming here to spring training next year, aren't you? I'm Mike, I, Brooke.

You're coming here. Justin. I'm going to come down here every spring. Yeah, you are, of course. I got a place down here that I used for just six weeks. I rented out for the rest of the year, but I'm going to stay up in Seattle. This will be my final year is the Voice of the Mariners, 41st season. I'm going to love it. I'm taking in every ounce of sunshine

right now and every ounce of the season. But yeah, this is going to be it. But I'm still, I still want to be around the ball club. I still want to do things for the team. I'll be down here every spring, you know, bugging you guys and going out to games and sitting down on the brim, Berman have a cold glass of milk and watch the game and maybe not milk.

And so, yeah, this is going to be a very interesting year. It's going to be a fun season too. My guys, we're going to talk about a lot, but this team is ready to do something special. But I'm going to be around. How did you know this was going to, you were going to make this decision? Yeah, that's a great question, Brock. I've been thinking about it the last couple of years, and Greg Green and I sat down, and Kevin Martinez sat down the year before last, and we mapped it out because you know you know not to get too

sentimental but you know I've lost a lot of friends in the last 10 15 years and my son passed

away two and a half years ago and that was devastating and greatest son in the world and
