Summary

Hour 3 of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show opens with Clay Travis discussing the latest economic news, including the softening of inflation to 2.4%, the lowest rate in four years, and the significant movements in the stock market. Clay highlights the historic point increase in the stock market, the impact of Trump's tariffs on China, now at 145%, and the passage of the budget resolution in the House, which aims to extend the Trump tax cuts and improve border security.

Clay updates listeners on Buck Sexton's baby watch, noting that Buck and his wife Carrie are at the hospital, and he is hosting solo. He also mentions his upcoming guest hosting on Fox and Friends over the weekend.

The show then shifts to a humorous segment where Clay plays a clip of Anderson Cooper misgendering a guest during a town hall with Bernie Sanders. The guest, a civil rights attorney, corrects Cooper by stating their pronouns are "they/them." Clay uses this incident to discuss the broader issue of gender identity politics and its impact on the Democratic Party's appeal to male voters.

Clay also addresses Michelle Obama's recent comments about not attending Jimmy Carter's funeral or Trump's inauguration, and her remarks on divorce rumors. He speculates on the dynamics of the Obamas' relationship and the public's expectations of former first ladies.

In a lighter segment, Clay plays a clip of Trump discussing his efforts to improve water pressure in showers, humorously highlighting the everyday issues that resonate with many Americans.

The hour concludes with breaking news about two American Airlines planes bumping wings at Reagan National Airport, and Clay takes calls from listeners, discussing various topics and providing updates on the stock market and other current events.

welcome back in Clay Travis Buck Sexton show. Appreciate all of you hanging out with us. All right,

0:06.5

let's dive in here. Top of the third hour. Lots that has been taking place as we move at warp speed

0:13.0

in so many different directions. First of all, inflation is softening. Good result. 2.4% inflation rate. The goods, average cost of goods,

0:25.5

actually dropped by 0.1% in the most recent month. Remember, the Fed's stated goal when it comes

0:33.6

to inflation is 2%. If we are near 2% inflation, then the overall rates, interest rates,

0:40.7

that all of us pay on mortgages, on cars, on student loans, all of the interest rates, in

0:48.4

theory, could come down as inflation has come back down. Joe Biden took office.

0:55.8

Inflation was under 2%. He drove it all the way up to 9%.

0:58.9

And we have been steadily, slowly,

1:01.4

trying to make progress on it since.

1:03.7

But the numbers that came out this morning,

1:06.2

four year low on inflation,

1:09.8

moving back to 2021, the last time that inflation was this low.

1:18.0

Yesterday, historic, incredible day, one of the greatest point totals, in fact, the greatest

1:24.0

point total in the history of the United States stock market.

1:28.2

Now, partly that's because the numbers are so high now, right?

1:31.7

It's several thousand point move is a smaller percentage sometimes than it would have been

1:37.2

for much of the historic average.

1:39.3

Stocks have not come back a massive amount so far today as I am talking to you down around 3% after around

1:47.6

a 10% gain yesterday.

1:50.3

So they have come back some some profit taking probably from people who made a massive

1:55.6

amount yesterday.
