We appreciate you being here. You have to go back to 2006. The last time someone other than Nick Sabon addressed the media as the head coach at the University of

Alabama football program. This is a headline in Michael Kosser-Ggrandi's column,

a new day at Sabon's old podium what was missing was Nick Sabon and I don't

think he was there either but Michael Casa Grande took it all in Michael

thank you for joining us you've covered a lot of those Nick Sabin

press conferences. I won't ask the obvious what was so different, but take us through what you saw.

Yeah, that was a new day indeed.

I said a genuine smile.

He seemed to be happy to be there. There weren't any glares, there weren't any

stare-downs. Seems like a genuinely nice guy. And it was maybe even a little bit boring. I think that's the new reality of the situation and probably by design.

But the days of Nick Sabin walking in on a rampage ready to tear into somebody.

That thrill is definitely gone.

I think that was just more obvious yesterday for the first time seeing a coach walk in there who wasn't Nick

Savon.

It seemed from here he was pleasant, happy to be there, enjoying what he was doing, all things that contradicted

with the former guy.
