From the Quantum Fiber Studio, this is Brock & Sock on Seattle Sports. Brock Ewerd is my hero. James But heuter just punched me in the kidney. We're going to give you what I'm wondering. That really worked that way, Sherm. This is a show that has my name on it. It's kind of does, though. Now here are your hosts, Brock Ewerd and Mike Salk. Hello! Yeah, I've just written this text, and I think I agree with hosts, Brock Eward and Mike Salk. Hello.

Yeah, I'm just reading this text, and I think I agree with it, Brock.

At 509, you have to keep MBS just because the rookies had injury history.

0:31.3

And I'm just trying to imagine it, right?

0:34.4

He's got injury issues and Cooper Cup has had injury issues.

If you lose, especially Horton, you're telling me you have no deep threat really on the team, there's no speed guy? I don't know. That would be hard for me to imagine. I just, I think that that is, that redundancy is one you need probably more than the other. And by the way, I love both Bobo and Dorek Young. I'd be really hard pressed to lose either one of those guys. But just the way the roster shakes out, it's hard for me to imagine. Yeah, and maybe one of those guys you put on your practice squad. Right? And obviously... I would think that's Dorek Young, too, just, you know, based on the fact that, you know, he's been around the league for a few years and hasn't done a whole lot. Like, I would think that you could maybe try to sneak him through. But I don't know. That just, just looking at it, it's, I'm not saying it won't happen, but it would surprise me a little bit, I guess. Just for those reasons. So just coming back here to Daniel Jeremiah yesterday, I'm pretty interested in the Charbonnet Ken Walker conversation. And Brock, you know, depends how. That think you have been for two years, two and a half years. Yeah. I mean, like I feel like Charbonnet's kind of gotten the short end of the stick. And I felt that way really since the beginning. And while I like watching K9 run, he's not my preferred type of runner. That doesn't mean I don't like him or I think he's bad or anything like that. But there are different styles of running back out there and his is

1:50.1

not my favorite style. But more than that, I look at it and say, I don't see how his style, the sort of

1:56.3

home run hitter type, kind of boom or bust, is going to work particularly well with the rest of the

2:01.9

personnel on this team.

2:03.2

If they really want to run the ball a lot, they've got to be making forward progress on all

2:07.6

their runs.

2:08.5

They've got to be in second and seven.

2:10.1

They've got to be in third and two.

2:11.8

They can't be in third and nine, third and 12.

2:15.9

That's just not a situation this team is built for.

2:19.3

So I've felt for a while like Charbonnet makes a lot more sense for the offense.

2:25.2

A week or so ago, Brock, you said Brocklamation time, Charbonnet is going to start game one.

2:30.4

Okay, well, then you and I are together on that one.

And then DJ comes on yesterday and says this. I'm just watching him run and I'm sitting there going like I like Kenneth, but I'm not so sure that the other guy isn't better. Yeah. Why? Why do you say? Because I have my own reasons. I think he sees it better. You know, to me, I think he just got better vision. Oh, he's got better vision. Okay, so we asked DJ for a little bit more follow-up. What exactly does that mean specific to this offense? Because there's going to be creases that are created, and they're not going to be created the same on, you can call the same run play five times, and the crease might be different every single time. So hesitation and pause, that's not a friend in this system. you've got to be able to see it, sort it, and go. And I just think Charbonnet sees things faster. He gets, and he gets to and through the whole quicker. So look, if you're going to run crack toss and it's just, we're running outside, I mean, Kenneth Walker can do that all day long. But in terms of being able to sift and sword inside and find the crease, I just think Charbonnet is a little more comfortable with that at this point in time. Yeah, I think I would co-sign on that. And he's really well versed in at Salk. And there's an advantage and opportunity and life experience to play in Michigan and play in that Harbaugh system and then play for Chip Kelly at UCLA for a number of years with just about every run game there is under the sun and to come here and and I think this yeah this is kind of hand in glove I think this does fit his timing and his processing and you know it funny you hear, and I've heard through the years,

3:59.9

a little more in the power game. And I think Michigan State, if I think back to that dynamic year

4:05.8

that Ken had, and I loved him there, I believe this is true as I'm just closing my eyes,
