the mariners here brock and it's trying to figure out how you're going to have a better second half than the

first and obviously the trade deadline is like under three weeks away from that last opportunity.

And there's probably not going to be much movement until then,

is there are so many teams that are at the very least in it,

whether they're good or not remains to be seen.

But, you know, of course,

with a bad American league and all that,

everyone is kind of in it.

So what is going to help the Mariners is there a big deal to be

made there might be not saying there's not but i'm going to say it again and again and i know it

sounds like excuse making i promise you it's not nothing no deal they make will help them as much

as cal and josh naler and julio being better in the second half there is no deal deal more important than that. That's not to say they won't make a deal. That's not to say there aren't some really interesting names out there. Could Taylor Ward help them? Sure, absolutely. Could they try to go big for someone like, say, a Suzuki? Yes. Could you consider teams that are all of a sudden not looking like they were supposed to,

like the Padres?

You want to make a run at Mason Miller or Morahone, that ridiculous lefty they've got,

or one of the bats they've got on that team?

Like, yeah, all right, there's some real interesting names.

But in the realm of reality, it's most likely that nobody you acquire, nothing you do with the deadline will help

more than especially Cal, but all three, Cal, Naler, and Julio having better second halfs.

I don't think we have said that over the last few years.

Right. I honestly, I think this is a bit of a newer sentiment. I you would catch yourself or or you know fans could hold us to the you know to the feet to the fire if this was something we said every year I just don't remember this conversation in this vein over the last two three four no last year was look at all these names which ones are you going to to go get? And they did the year before that you have. You have this need at first base. You have this need on the corner infield. You have this need for power. Right. You have this need at the back end of your bullpen, which ended up, I think, flaring up a little bit into the playoffs with the injury to woo. Last year they have three big needs.
