Welcome to today's edition of the Clay Travis and Boxe-Sexton Show Podcast.

Depending on what ends up happening, you have articles being written by places like the New York Times on just how authorities are preparing for an unprecedented arrest of an ex-president.

This may well happen.

An arrest of an ex-president that a Democrat prosecutor, in this case Alvin Bragg of the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, would be pursuing for failure to disclose a hush money payment to a porn star as a campaign expense.

We are really having this conversation right now. As a country, this is real folks. We're really having this discussion because of that.

Now, I know that the pointing out of hypocrisy is something that we do and I often tell you the hypocrisy is the point, but there are also limits to it where even I just have to say you have got to be kidding me.

This is not a situation that any reasonable person would think requires.

Think about this. If Donald Trump were just some average guy off the street and they told me they were going to bring this prosecution, if he had been running for dog catcher, that's not really a job anywhere.

People always talk about that. Are there local dog catcher elections or whatever? I don't think that's local municipal water chairman or something. Whatever it is.

If you were running for some low level low level office and they tried to bring a charge like this, I'd be like, come on guys.

If you really want to be tough, make them pay a fine or something. Make them pay some fine. Oh gosh, no, what's you going to do now?

But that's not the point of this. Oh, this has nothing to do with justice and everybody knows it and that's the point.

This is a political hit, pure and simple. We all see it. And it's supposed to be a political hit. It's supposed to be you don't get to have this man run again or be president again because we the left, the Democrats, the commies say so.

And we're going to use the law. We're going to use the state. We're going to use whatever is at our disposal, whatever power we can bring to bear here to that end.

This is it's amazing. They used to use a term on precedent at all the time. Do you remember this?

Whenever they were reporting on Trump when he was in office, there would be an unprecedented move. Donald Trump had two scoops of ice cream.

Well, the other people around him had one scoop unprecedented. They used that term. This though, the indictment of a former president on the most look if Donald Trump was taking.

I don't know if he was I'm trying to think of what would even be a crime that would be worthy of a prosecution of a former president.

If he had been involved in a vehicular manslaughter, right, which should be that would be the secret service when he was president, but you get what I'm saying, right?

Secret service agents fall that I would think, but if you are involved in something really serious.

And we could all agree and there was a victim and there was a real problem and bad things had happened.

Remember, this is going all the way back to 20.
