This is the Paul Five-Bomb show on ESPN Radio,

and we have progress in college football.

How about that?

Straight seating will be the law of the land

in the college football playoffs starting this year.

As voted on today by the nine conference commissioners and Notre Dame, unanimous vote to go to a straight seating model.

What does that mean if you do not know?

Well, obviously the top four conference champions, regardless of where they were ranked, got moved up to one through four.

So any at-large teams that might have been ranked in the top four got moved down.

Arizona State and Boise State were not ranked three and four.

They were ranked significantly lower than that last year, but they got jumped all the way up to three and four.

And that seems kind of dumb.

So just like the college basketball tournament, at-larges and automatics, get you into the tournament.

That is how you get into the playoffs still.

Five, the top five-rated conference champions will get in.

The next seven teams this year, might be more next year,

and the year after, the next seven at-larges highest ranked, get in. What we should have done is
