We opened the show with the news that Verlander was in fact being traded.

Bob Knight and Gal of USA today now has some numbers, guys.

The meds are sending the assures about $54 million in the Justin Verlander trade.

If Verlander's $35 million dollar option in 2025 becomes vested.

So Verlander's owed about 93 million, meaning the assures would pay Verlander about $29 million

for two and a third years, which is incredibly inexpensive, and makes this

ultimate deal that the meds made with Verlander one of the worst deals of all time.

You can't tell me that the two players that they got are worth $54 million and what they've

already paid Verlander so far. So he's owed $43 million.

They're 67% of the way through the season, so they probably already paid him $35 million.

So for $89 million, let's say $30 million.
