Jordan, how's it going?

Hi, guys. Baseball's back. They're playing real games to count. How about that?

It's officially back. I think we have six games we're looking at here, and it's that tricky

spot that lasts for the first, like, couple months of the season where you're like,

how do I say anything definitive about this at all? So I'll leave that at the front of this

entire conversation because we all know it to be true. So now on to my first question. What's up

with Cal? Gal struggling a little bit. What are you seeing? I was like, okay, are they going to ask me about Cal struggling first? Or are they going to kind of use their way into things? Nope, jump and write it. I was prepared. Yeah, I mean, listen, why this is, I think when this had the opportunity and then obviously

a relatively disappointing showing in the World Baseball Classic in front of a lot of people,

this feels more extended than maybe it actually is, right?

And the sample of games that we're talking about is still so small, but because it was

something we were already talking about with how little he did.

And again, a tiny, tiny sample in the WBC and sort of this interrupted spring training.

It feels like we've been talking about Cal struggling for multiple weeks, which is probably not really fair.

This is also just the nature for a hitter who is, you know, set the standard that he did last year.

But it also is a reminder that even in his historic season last year, Cal hit, what was it, 246, 247.

And so the number of hits that you're getting is not going to be as often as maybe somebody of the top hitters in the game.

And so when things are going bad and he's chasing pitches, he's hitting balls weekly, he's swinging through pitches in the zone, all of it just looks worse. That's going to be true for a lot of power hitters that are more power and patience instead of consistent contact. So I agree he doesn't look great right now. And I worry that he's suddenly not, you know, one of the best players in baseball. No, I'm not at all. I actually have a Yankee question. I'll get to my mariner question, I guess. I saw Fried. He was calling his own plays, our own, called his own game yesterday. How many starters do that that you know of? That's a great question. And I think that with the advent of Pitchcom, you know, at first it's like, okay, great, well, this is going to be all about the catchers. And now we've even heard about teams that are calling pitchers from the dugout with Pitchcom more like kind of what you see at the college level. But there are some pitchers that are kind of trying to take control. They do have the ability to call their own game. And I'm still surprised that someone like Freed,
