let's rewind. Way, way, way back before we get to the story from today and the soundbite and

everything else. Have you ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition.

Most people have heard of it.

Even if you don't necessarily know in depth what it is,

by the way, there were three different inquisitions in different places.

Everyone just knows the Spanish, but it doesn't matter.

It doesn't matter.

But many people, most people who have a surface level knowledge of that,

which would be most people, will say something to the effect of, well, yeah, the church was torturing and murdering people who didn't believe the right things.

It's fair.

You know it wasn't that many people, right?

And it took place over a century.

This is not a defense of torturing and murdering people. Please don't think I'm defending it. I realize they came out wrong.
