Really? According to Andy Martino four minutes ago, the Mets are signing lefty reliever

A.J. Minter away from the Atlanta Braves. All right. Well, I like A.J. Mentor. He's one of the

more reliable relievers in baseball as a lefty. Won a World Series a few years ago with Atlanta.

It is a lifelong brave. So obviously, we've grown to hate him. But he's one of the better, more reliable relievers in baseball. So I like that. Any figures yet for Mr. Mentor? No. What we're getting

is pending physical. All right. I don't think that should eliminate them from Tanner, Scott.

Like the Mets have been looking for a lefty for a while out of the bullpen, but you never

have enough. And to me, Tanner, Scott, I don't think of as like a left-handed specialist. I think of them as like another closer along with Edwin Diaz.

So A.J. Minther is a very, very solid signing as the Mets try to enhance their bullpen.

And I say it almost like sadly because it's more evidence that they're taking the financial allocations that they had ready for Pete and

then moving it elsewhere. While AJ Minter and Jesse Winker don't replace Pete Alonzo, it feels

very pivot-ish. What's the number going to be for him? So Jeff Passon has it. Minter,

two years, $22 million. That's reasonable. $11 million a year for A.J. Mentor on only a two-year deal?

Includes an opt-out after the first season.

So it's basically a one-year deal.
