Don, that's quite a good game yesterday. Still, there's there's reason to worry though,

because their bullpen tried to give it away and the eighties wouldn't take it, but Verlander,

I think it was a seventh straight, really good outing. He's putting up really good numbers,

closer to the picture that he was last year. It's a little concerning that he could only

give them six innings, but I don't think Buck Showalter is doing this for fun. I think

that he was out of gas. I think that, you know, we knock managers for taking guys out early.

I think even the best pictures in baseball, they run out of gas at a hundred pitches. After

years of the clock ticking and a hundred pitches being a big red light on, I just don't think

they can go anymore. And their mind, they shut it off.

But you know what's so frustrating about Verlander, and he's going to be fine, and he's

going to be easily their best pitcher down the stretch, is that he's just so stubborn.

He just refuses to give in. He's always working the corners. And sometimes, if you got the

wrong umpire behind the plate, he doesn't hit those corners. Like, was it a couple of

outings before where you walk six guys? He's going to walk a lot of guys yesterday. I

mean, he walked DJ Lemayou three times. Yeah. And he runs up his pitch count. You know,

so if he gets the right umpire and gets the calls, he can go out there like he did the

youting before and give you eight and he possibly could have came out for the ninth in

that game in his last start. But if he doesn't get the corners, he gets a lot of walks. And

then he's got a hundred pitches through five six innings and he can't give you really
