Look, I know that the draft already happened and that there are lots of rookies we want to talk about,

0:20.6

but I read John Boyle's latest, latest for Seahawks.com and it's like an hour by hour look behind

0:28.2

the scenes, detailed look at the Seahawks draft.

0:31.2

And it is fascinating.

0:33.2

John joining us right now.

0:34.5

And John, it was a great read, but I have to start with something that I had to reread. Why are good and bad things called upsets in the first round? So if a guy goes before

0:46.4

they thought he would, and if a guy goes that they wanted, it's called an upset. So it gets a little

0:52.6

confusing. So you hear it thrown around when you're in the room, like, let's say we're in the third round and a guy the Seahawks have a fifth round. I guess Jim Nagy kind of started this tradition, a long time Seahawks, who now is with the University of Oklahoma. You know, it's just, it's helpful information and also just, you know, it's good news for the Seahawks if, okay, this guy that we thought was going to go later, somebody ahead of us took him, so they'll yell out that that's an upset. But then you'll also hear John Schneier sometimes talk about, like, oh, whoever took a player we like before us, and they refer to that as an upset. So I don't know if I were in charge, maybe I'd suggest separate terms for those, but

1:29.2

but that's how they do it.

1:31.2

Boy, how would you describe the, the atmosphere in that room during the draft?

1:36.9

It's, I mean, like it always is with John Schneider running things.

1:40.2

Like, it's, it's pretty calm.

1:42.1

It's, you know, this is a relaxed group this personnel

1:45.2

department for the most part has been together a long time they obviously

1:48.8

know what they're doing and just the personality of John Schneider like they're

1:52.0

gonna have a good time they're gonna you know bust each other's chops when

1:55.1

it's appropriate and they're also gonna be very prepared which I think in

1:58.7

anything in life if you're more prepared going into a big event, tests, job, whatever, you're going to be more relaxed if you know, you're prepared. And these guys spend all year on that. So, you know, like I wrote about in the story, there was one point on day three when John and Mike had some clips from Dumb and Dumber playing on a laptop in the room and like they're having good time but
