And how nice to be joined by Brady Henderson this morning of ESPN. He's in for Brock today. Good morning, Brady. What's up, Mike? How are we? It's good to see you. I haven't seen you in a while. It's been like forever. So it's nice to see you. We used to be golf buddies, remember? Back before the before the monsoon yeah before it rained every single day so uh good to be in with you today and uh glad to have you here thanks for

helping out on friday as well uh i'll start today with a letter grade i don't always do letter grades

0:50.5

but i'm given sam darnold an a for yesterday. And that may not be popular. Did he play a

0:57.4

whale of a game from start to finish? No, did you throw for a gazillion yards? No. Did the offense

1:02.9

look good? No. Did they get into the end zone? No. Did they move the ball consistently? No.

1:08.5

They didn't run it well. But he did what he needed to do. He didn't turn the ball over. And most importantly, two-minute drive, end of the game, it was really more like 42-second drive, end of the game. He got him into field goal range. And that's what they needed. So they win the game. Sam gets an A for me. I would agree with that. And yeah, this was, you know, we're going to do takeaways from this game at 830, and that was going to be one of my takeaways is that Sam Darnold, despite this not being anywhere near his best game of the season in terms of total QBR, despite not lighting up the stat sheet at all. I think he did what he had to do. And, you know, for the first time,

1:44.5

and it seems like a few weeks, he did not put the ball in harm's way. And he didn't see him miss a ton of throws. Now, he did miss the one to Rashid Shaheed in the end zone on their second to last drive, not counting, you know, the kneel down at the end. But then he comes right back on that final drive and hits Shaheed twice to set up the

2:02.0

game winner. And, you know, I wonder if part of the turnovers that we've seen from

2:06.3

Donald in previous games were a quarterback knowing that he's facing a lesser opponent and

2:13.5

he's got one of the best defenses in the NFL and he's just got more room to, he's got

2:18.7

more wiggle room. He's got more room to make the kind of aggressive throws that he's made.

2:23.4

You didn't see those decisions in this game. And it seemed very clear from the from very early

2:28.5

on in this game that despite what, how everybody thought the game was going to go when you

2:32.4

consider the situation, the Colts were in a quarterback.

2:36.3

This had the look of a game that was going to be close throughout the end.
