Here's another very, very important reason.

While keeping Pete Alonzo and putting together this dynamic lineup,

which is what it would be if Pete is here in 2025 is so important,

the Met rotation is average.

And I would even say hopefully average.

Kodi Sang is coming off an injury.

David Peterson's trying to prove that last year is real.

Shalmaniah's trying to prove last year is real.

And Clay Holmes and Frankie Montas are projects.

So the Mets who had an average rotation last year, and I would call it a surprisingly average

rotation last year, they're would call it a surprisingly average rotation

last year, they're going to need their offense, in my humble opinion, to carry them.

If they're going to be good in a deep national league, they can't just have a good lineup.

They have to have a dynamic lineup.

Which is exactly the scenario what was last year, because it was experimental with their

rotation. Now, they got away with

it, but the catalyst was they started hitting, right? Lindor started hitting. They got some

production from Pete and was felt average wise. He was below whatever his mean is supposed to be,

but he hit 34 home runs. So Iglesias was good, and Winker, when he came over at the end of the season, he was good as well.

So, like, they got by without it, but it's a rough formula to try to live with over and over and over.

And it makes it more difficult when you're taking away this incredibly reliable slugger
