Art Rooney II, the owner of the Steelers, had a press conference today.

And he talked about Mike Tomlin stepping down.

So this was put together by Mike Carapolo of the NFL network.

He said that Rooney said he wasn't shocked by Mike Tomlin stepping down but expected the conversation would be about the future not resigning.

Tomlin expressed to him he doesn't plan on coaching in the near future.

Compensation from another team to hire him would be discussed in the future if that occurs.

He said the hiring process for the Steelers might take a few weeks.

He said there's no likely internal candidates, though some coaches could remain on staff.

He wants the next coach to be heavily involved in personnel and the draft

with GM Omar Khan, as the organization has for years. And they also said, Aaron Rogers signed

with the Steelers to play for Tomlin. So it appears his days in Pittsburgh are over. Now, we mentioned

in the start. John Harbaugh is in the giant facility right now. I could say he's interviewing with the Giants, but as I said at the start of the show, he's interviewing them. When you're at the top of the list of coaches that are available, you don't have to answer their questions. They've got to answer yours. They're the ones being interviewed. He's going to hire them.

They've already made it very, very clear they want him.

Now they have to answer his questions the right way.

Every team he speaks to, if he does get out of the giant facility, he's going to be interviewing them.

Not them interviewing him.

Kevin Stefansky has to be interviewed by them.

Mike McCarthy has to be interviewed by them.
