The Mets have lost seven in a row after last night's 2-1 defeat to the Dodgers at Uniglo Field,

the Dodgers Stadium at Chavez Ravine, very long name.

And I said with the Mets struggling, I want to talk to Laura Albanyse who covers the Mets for Newsday. And if you haven't read her, you should. She's outstanding. But you better hurry up because she's going to be a star in this side of the industry. I've told her that personally, and I'll say it on the air. She's great on TV. She's great on radio.

So hopefully she's great on this show right now. Laura, how are you doing? I'm doing well, and now I feel like the expectations are high, and I will try my very best to live up to them. I think you'll do just fine. All right. So simple question, probably a complicated answer. what do you think is wrong with this team?

And do you think it's something to be concerned about for a season?

So I know everyone that's saying it's only April.

It's only April.

But I think one of the things that you do have to look at is the fact this team is failing in ways that are very similar to last year's team, except it's a completely different

roster. So you do have to look at the approach of some of the at-bats. I mean, the thing that

really stuck out to me yesterday was the three at-bats against Alex Vecia in the ninth inning of

the Dodgers game. And these were just three non-competitive at-bats from Jorge Polanco, Bobuchuchette, Francisco Alvarez, where we saw them strike out, all three of them, on 10 pitches combined, seven of which were out of the strike zone.

So you can already tell, like, the approach there, the expanding the strike zone, the chase, that's a big issue.

That couple of the fact that, you know, Juan Soto isn't coming back, and I cannot

understate that enough how much Juan Soto's absence means to this team. You're in a really

tough stretch right now where guys have to pick each other up in the lineup and they're just not doing it.

So, I mean, one thing that they did over the offseason was they kind of cleaned out the coaching staff.
