You can add fentanyl to the crises this country is facing.

A crime crisis with record murder rates in the cities across the country,

an economic 40-year high in inflation, and a looming recession,

and a crisis at the border with a record number of people illegally crossing the southern border.

And now, another record.

A hundred and eight thousand overdose deaths in

2021. 101. And we're in a pace to break that record again. We are at 92,000 deaths this year with

still four months to go. The DEA reports that 70% of those deaths involve the illegal opioid fentanyl.

It is now the leading cause of death for adults ages 18 to 45.

And what are we doing about all of this, All these crises? In the last two weeks,

President Biden passed a climate change bill and forgave student loans. The fentanyl crisis is

just another crisis to ignore, or at least ignore the cause of the problem. Everybody knows the source of the

problem. It's the fact that we're not securing our southern border. And fentanyl, a synthetic

opioid that is 10 times more deadly than a natural opioid is pouring across into this country.

Enough fentanyl has already come into the country

to kill every American seven times over, if that's possible.

The DEA has been all over this.

You can't blame them.

They're all over this and begging, begging for help.

DEA administrator Anne Milgram told CBS News as Savannah Guthrie exactly where this scourge on America is coming from. China's to blame. Chinese chemical companies are the largest producer right now

of the precursor chemicals that are being used to make fentanyl. There's a relationship between

these Chinese chemical companies and the criminal cartels in Mexico. I think it's important to talk
