I think the Mets, they're putting it out there, we're trying to contend this year,

but their actions would indicate otherwise.

They're trying to work within the confines of a self-imposed system where they can make a big splash next year in

2026 so even if he's out for the year I'm not sure that they would make a move

for another pitcher because internally they're not expecting to do much this year

and they're expecting you to buy into their plan

which is to see what the young kids could do sign pictures to one-year

contracts like they did with Severino and a two-year deal with Manaya I get it I

understand what they're doing but But this to me is a

double down on you know what we're gonna try the best we can this year if they're in

it at the trade deadline maybe they would make a move but at this point they're

not going to waste their time because they know they're not a great team.
