Connor McGregor made his much anticipated return to the Octagon at UFC 329 on Saturday against Max Holloway, but the return was short-lived as the fight was stopped one minute and nine seconds into the first round due to an apparent leg injury to Connor McGregor, which resulted in Holloway winning by technical knockout due to injury.

After the fight, McGregor took to X posting, quote, I was so sharp and so ready for this

fight, I cannot believe what has happened. The talk of me being off while walking into the

fight is nonsense. I was calm, ready, and confident. I am in shock about what has taken place. The devil is

literally staring at me right in front of my face here. I am not engaging. I will be at church

tomorrow. I will overcome this. I will not be deterred. I will return. End quote.

Those are some strong words there from Connor McGregor. A pretty disappointing sight for all of us who were expecting his return, Joe.

What was your reaction to the way the fight ended?

I'm going to start with the diplomatic answer first, which is I felt bad for all the fans.

I felt bad for everyone in attendance who paid to be there, everyone who tuned in to see it because there was a lot of anticipation.

We haven't seen them in five years.

That said, this is the third easiest bet of my life, and that outcome was extremely predictable and also highly lucrative.

Came in at 154. How did we know? Rehearsals. She did four rehearsals in one minute, 54 seconds, two days before the event. That information got out, easiest bet ever. actually thought a guy who didn't box was going to beat one of the greatest boxers of all

time.

And then this number three.

And again, people are upset.

92% of the money that was wagered at draftings was on Connor McGregor, a fighter who was

37 years old, hadn't fought in five years, hadn't won or had won one time since the Obama administration, and yet people were betting them. It was an absolute layup. Holloway's fantastic. It's unfortunate that it went down like this, but I think even if he doesn't get hurt, he's still getting smacked. So ultimately, third greatest bet of all time. I'm very content with it.
