So the Yankees win 4-2 on opening day at the stadium, a crowd of over 46,000 people there.

It turned out to be a beautiful day.

And, you know, there are several things that you should look at when you look at this game.

One of them is that the Yankees started a lineup where there are six legitimate home-grown

players came up through the system, either signed or drafted by the Yankees.

Six of them.

That hasn't happened to a Yankee team in 50 years.

That was years of Roy White and Bobby Mercer and Thurman Munson and the like.

So the Yankees had six homegrown players in their lineup.

It was a young lineup other than Judge.

Even Bellinger is 29 years old and obviously Goldsmith's 37, but they have a young team.

They have a much more athletic team than they've had in the past.

And two of their kids out of their system, both first-round draft picks.
