Now, there is something about human beings individually,

and it also applies to civilizations at large. And this something is, human beings,

oftentimes, when things are going well, they don't really make improvements on themselves

or their family and their lives because things are going well.

And I don't know about you, but I certainly struggle with that and have struggled with that

in the times in my life where I had a good job and the family situation was good and my car

was running and bills were getting paid. When that's happening, you don't generally wake up in the morning and slap yourself

in the face and say, I got to get better.

I suck.

That's the kind of time where you stand up and you think to yourself, I've got to figure it out.

Look at how smart I am.
