Anyway, they end up giving Malik neighbors number one and they say that John

Mara, the owner of the team, called up Ray Flaherty's son, Ray Flaherty Jr.

Now, Ray Flaherty was an end and a defensive end and he was the first professional athlete

first professional athlete to ever have his number retired in any sport. This was before the Yankees retired Lou Gehrig's number four.
