And we are rolling on our number two of Get Up.

0:03.8

McNutt is here.

0:04.8

Brian Winhorst is up with us early as well.

0:06.7

We're talking some hoops. We got plenty of football coming away, six days and counting to the Super Bowl. That crew will be along in a moment. But we begin with the game of the night. And it was right here in New York City. We had the Lakers, we have the Knicks. Would it be LeBron James last game at the Garden?

0:20.2

That was certainly one of the storylines.

0:21.7

There he is with Mello before the game, NBC. We have the Knicks. Would it be LeBron James last game at the Garden? That was certainly one of the storylines.

0:21.8

There he is with Mello before the game, NBC, and their crew was there. And Monica, LeBron can still do this. Yes, indeed. Out on the fast break, one of the best scores in the league averaging just shy of six points in that particular category. Enthusiasm, you see it Reggie. He's seen that a few times.

0:38.3

We've also seen Spike Lee a few times. This is Luca and Spike. A little back and forth. Luca had 30 points, 15 rebounds. Lakers had a two-point lead now. We're in the third quarter and this is where the Knicks turned the game on and they did it with their defense. Absolutely. Oji and Obi finished this ball game with three steals, but he did a great job of being disruptive and setting this team up to be able to capitalize off of turnover. Galen Brunson's steady, not spectacular last night, 12 points, 13 rebounds, but that one makes it an eight-point game and then Ananobe would score 25. Yeah, he's in a terrific stretch of games right now, Greenie. He's got his third straight 20 plus point game. That's his longest streak of the season. Nine point lead, and this one was the dagger. Josh Hartnowe with Mitchell Robinson, offensive board, Landry Shammit. He had 23 off the bench. That's a big deal. That's a big deal in terms of this Knicks team showing that they have depth that they believe in as the season continues on. Again, LeBron, would it be his last trip to the floor at legendary Madison Square Garden? We'll have to wait and find out. Nick's defense has been locked down during their winning streak, allowing just under 92 a game over the last six. Fewest by any team over any six game stretch during this season. As I mentioned, Wendy is up with us early, but Monica, I'll give you the first crack at this, and that number sort of gives away the answer. But it's been a roller coaster for the Knicks. As recently as two weeks ago, people were asking, is this team falling apart with them? They're two and nine and 11, whatever the stretch was. And now they've won six straight, and defense has been the reason why. That's it. That's it. And I think, Greenie, I will be honest, rolling with these guys over the course of this stretch,

2:03.6

you're like, okay, cool, you played Philly in a sort of a close game, you played Brooklyn, you got a Toronto team that's kind of falling off, you got a Sacramento team that's not really winning. How will this defensive effort that you're seeing over this stretch translate? Last night, you step up in weight class when you're dealing with the likes of Luca Dantjean and LeBron James.

2:18.7

And the communication and the accountability and the energy and effort on that side of the floor has definitely translated.

2:24.4

So they really built some tenants that they hope to build on as you get to the All Star Break and beyond.

2:28.8

Yeah. So win man, should we sort of put the kibosh on the Janus to the Knicks conversation?

2:34.7

I'll remind anyone who needs reminding the trade deadline is later this week.

2:38.5

Janus is the big name in the middle of all of it.

2:40.7

The Knicks are playing great right now.

2:42.4

Should we not be thinking that way anymore when man?

2:45.5

I wouldn't say absolutely not, but the Knicks are not operating like a team that is going all in for Janus.

2:51.6

I don't believe that they can beat another team like Golden State's offer with just what they have to put on the table.

2:58.6

They would have to go out there in the market aggressively, offer other players to pick up extra first-round draft picks.

3:03.6

And we just don't have an indication if that's happening.

3:06.2

If you look at what this Knicks team is right now, they have excellent wing defenders that they have invested enormous amounts in, in contracts, in assets to trade for them.

3:16.2

They have a superstar that they believe can be a guy who leads them to playoff victories in Jalen Brunson.
