I did want to mention, though, the other controversy last night, at least in this town, Tiki, was the idea of several Met fans being, I guess, upset or angry that Pete Alonzo wasn't named the All-Star Game MVP, and instead Kyle Schwerber was.

Now, he wanted walk off fashion.

Okay. So here's the controversy. Go ahead. I hear it.

There have been some, I think our guy, Jay Customs, who I met, he's the guy who made the OMG sign, really good dude.

He had, I know he had tweeted this out.

He looked up like rules on Major League Baseball's All-Star game. Right. Which, Jay, I love you, baby. But please. I mean, most people are going to be confused by this because I think most people didn't even realize about the swing off.

So he had looked up the rule. I saw this and this went everywhere that the MVP of the game is to be determined from what happened in the nine innings in the All-Star game. Okay. Now. He didn't even get a hit, Swarbron. Right. So let me clear this up.

There's a major flaw if this is Major League Baseball's rule.

Because if a game is tied after nine innings and your MVP is determined in those nine

innings, the person who wins the game like Schwerber did is obviously the MVP. So to pick an MVP from the nine innings and not pick the guy who won the game feels outlandish anyway. Right, especially because they're only playing a couple of innings. Oh, exactly. So I say this to say, could Pete Alonzo have won MVP last night? Would I have screamed the other than? No, but at the same time, then why not? The reason it got to the swing off that we're not counting in the MVP voting is on two separate occasions, Bobby Witt Jr. drove in a run, and then he also scored the game tying run. Now, he ends up on the losing team, but he's only on the losing team as a result of the swing off, which we're not counting based on the rules in voting for an MVP. Right. So Bobby Witt should have won the MVP, even though they lost. Pete's case for the MVP is that he hit a three-run homer on the team that won, but they only won the game because of a swing off, which Met fans don't want to count when it comes to the MVP.

I completely get it. So the whole thing is backwards. First of all, Major League Baseball shouldn't have that rule in place to be given. Why is that, that rule is stupid? It doesn't make any sense at all. Because it's baseball and nothing in baseball in sense. especially because they instituted a swing off that is going to be dramatic and probably, as is the case this season, the most remembered thing about the All-Star game.

Right.

Maybe the most remembered thing about the All-Star weekend is going to be Cow Swarber.

The only reason, again, this is more controversy and why baseball even has this rule written, is that, like anything, Tiki, you can gamble on who wins all-star game MVP in certain markets. So a lot of people last night might have gotten screwed. Oh, they have to give all of those wagers back. Yeah, they should be void. 100%. And maybe they already have, you can't gamble on that in New York.

I'm not sure about New Jersey. So I didn't even have any taste in this. You have to void those, in my opinion. So that's why that rules in there. But again, the rule is stupid. Right. Because if you're going to make a claim on the winning team, you only won because of the guy who won it for you in the swing off, who's the MVP.
