The offseason of the NBA has begun and everybody's trying to figure out who's going where.

And one of those names is LeBron James.

But here's the problem.

Everybody's putting their own mindset into his decision.

And I think that leads to the wrong concepts.

We're all convinced we know what LeBron's going to do, but we're forgetting the history of what LeBron's done in the process. He's Buck Rising. I'm Jason Fitz. We'll get back to some World Cup in a bit. Buck, I keep hearing, oh, LeBron's going to go play for Golden State. That's one of the reports that's out this morning is that Golden State's going to make a serious push for AD and LeBron to be reunited with Golden State. Or we're seeing, oh, LeBron's going to go playing Cleveland. And part of this becomes anywhere that he's going to go that we're talking about, whether it's Golden State or Miami. He's going to go back to Miami with Janus and they're going to try and win a championship together. All of those places require that LeBron would take the mid-level exemption in the NBA. Now, NBA's contracts are complicated. I don't want anyone's eyes to gloss over. But essentially, it means LeBron to be playing for $15 million. This is where everybody listening says, well, guys, worth a billion. Who cares?

He'll play for $15 million to go win a championship. I don't know, Willie. Because if he,

if he was going to do that, could have done it last year. If he was going to take less than

market value to go somewhere and win a chip, he's had multiple opportunities to do that in his career.

He never has. He's always been a, I know what I'm worth, and I'm going to get what I'm worth

if I'm going to play a person. Why are we suddenly all assuming because he has more money than we do

and we think, oh, when you have all the money in the world, like, why are we suddenly presuming

that this out of all the years is going to be the year where LeBron decides he's going to uproot, he's not going to play with his son, he's going to leave L.A. He's going to leave an area he loves to play for less money that might have a better chance at winning a championship. Well, this time around is different, though, Fitsy, for the one small fact, and not necessarily a small fact for the purposes of this conversation, but Shams, as Kevin O'Connor noted in his reporting for Yahoo Sports, Shams did report last week that the Lakers have not made an offer to LeBron yet. And it doesn't mean that they won't, but that there's currently no offer on

the table for LeBron. So we are in a situation where he's in a situation, rather, that he's maybe

never been in his career, where he doesn't have a standing offer to go play for a team that he

wants to play for it. The leverage that he has

had his entire career, not to say that he has none whatsoever, because he's still LeBron James,

he still brings a significant level of economic impact to your franchise, if for no other reason

than ticket sales and merch sales and all these other things that come along

with LeBron, even if he's not going to affect the competitive balance, maybe the way that he did
