Brian Day has created quite a stir with his interview yesterday, talking about the Big Ten,

deserving a word we always love to see, for automatic qualifiers.

Well, a lot of people who, number one, were surprised he said it but probably more surprised

that he had to say it as opposed to the commissioner of the Big Ten who somewhere is

missing an action right Adam Rittenberg calls all this stir by his recent trip to

Columbus good afternoon first of all Adam and congratulations on shaking up the college football

world. It's what I'm here for, Paul. We've got to have something here. We've had a few days

without a storm, and that certainly wasn't my intent. We talked about a lot of different things that I'm

happy to get into with you, but obviously I know the comments about a future playoff model from the reigning

national champion coach are going to create a reaction, which they obviously have. So explain

what he said to you and really the rationale behind, by the way, a school that has been left out a few

times over the years in a four-team playoff,

but fared pretty well in the first 12-team playoff.

Right. And I think it's important to realize, like, these were not self-centered or self-driven

comments from Ohio State coach Ryan Day. You know, if they are a team that's hovering on the

fringes of a 12 or 16

team playoff, most likely that has not been a very good season for the Buckeyes. And so I think what

this is about is a prominent or maybe the most prominent coach in the Big Ten relaying very much
