Nikki, we have to start with the big announcement coming out of Governor Mike Braun's office yesterday.

And that is the Indiana sales gas tax on hold.

Tell us about it.

Yeah. And to be clear, because because lots of people are getting confused,

we're talking about a 30-day pause on the sales tax on gas, which is different than the gas

tax. So, you know, this is an additional 17 cents that Hoosiers pay when they buy gas per gallon.

That's the April rate, and that will be suspended for 30 days.

So you could save, I don't know, two bucks if you fill up for 10 gallons. Were you there when he

made the announcement? Were you at the press conference? I was not. I was speaking at a class. We got

less than an hour's notice on that one. So another

reporter of ours was there. Well, that, okay, so that makes me question. Did you guys know this

was coming? Was there any indication that this was going to happen? No, definitely popped up kind of

as a surprise yesterday.

I mean, and then it was interesting.

We got the notice of the announcement and then immediately got deluged with a bunch of

Senate Republicans urging the governor to suspend the sales tax on gas.

And so obviously it was coordinated.

Under what authority can the governor do this?

Because statutorily, the governor in the state of Indiana is fairly weak.
