This is National Works Zone Awareness Week.

I'm a victim of being ran over by a semi-while flagging.

The person wasn't paying attention, and they hit me with their vehicle.

I've seen an accident where we were the first people to walk up, and that picture will never leave my mind.

I've seen the people get hit before.

It's been horrible.

Construction zones on roadways and bridges are more than just cones and equipment.

They're the workplace for thousands of dedicated union laborers. Everybody has a family that they need to get back home to, so please just pay attention to us out here while we're working. We all have family, and I know it's a pain in the ass. We're trying to make the roads better for y'all. We're doing this for everyone. We're hardworking Hoosiers, just like you, and we all want to make it home safely. People would just take a couple seconds to pay attention. Be aware where we're at, where the cone zones are at. affiliated locals. Everybody keeps talking about gas prices, but it's diesel costs that could impact your life the most.

Why does diesel matter?

Well, it powers trucks, shipping, farming, most supply chains.

Diesel prices are rising faster than gasoline. Since the Iran conflict began, diesel is up

about 45 percent, while regular gas is up 35 percent. And you have to pay attention to the diesel

costs at the pump because it drives food prices, freight costs, retail pricing, everything

in your eyesight at one point has been on a truck and those trucks run on diesel.

I am fascinated by this. The old notion used to be that diesel you could get more mileage out of it.

And so, you know, if you bought a diesel car, diesel would used to be roughly the same as gasoline.

And now it is significantly more.

And I don't know why that is because on a barrel of oil, when you refine it, you can refine it to be, you know, whatever percentage of gasoline and diesel you want. You get fuel oil out of it. You also get, you know, heavy greases and things. It all comes out of that barrel of oil. It's just a matter of how much of which ones do you want. So why they would be producing less diesel to jack the price unless it's artificially being jacked, I don't understand. But it does affect everything. That is the question, unless it's artificially being jacked, I don't understand, but it does affect

everything.

That is the question, unless it's artificially being jacked up.
