Nikki Kelly, reporter extraordinaire today. Nikki, let's talk about this judge ordering counties to hold absentee ballots in the Indiana Senate primary. Can you give us a little background on this story?

Yeah, it's really kind of crazy.

So it's one of these Senate races where Senator Greg Good voted against redistricting. And Donald Trump

and Governor Mike Braun came out and said, you know, we want to kick these people out who didn't

go along. So they endorse a woman named Brenda Wilson, a county councilwoman there, to

beat, you know, to go against Greg Good. And then another woman came along and filed, and her name is

Alexandra Wilson. So basically, Brenda Wilson people are worried that Alexander Wilson is going to take enough votes

that they'll split and then Greg Good will retain his seat. So they tried to kick her off the ballot

based on a criminal conviction when she was 19. They believe it's a felony. It was a resisting

law enforcement. She says and her lawyers say no. I mean, I was charged with a felony. It was a resisting law enforcement. She says, and her lawyers say,

no, I mean, I was charged with a felony, but when I pled, it was to a misdemeanor level. You know,

you can plead down. So the election commission tied. It was a two-two vote, which meant she

remained on the ballot. So now we're in this court case. We're now Brenda Wilson's attorneys, Jim Bob,

very well known and, you know, ally to Governor Mike Braun, they're trying to get

Alexander Wilson off the ballot. But we're also stuck in this compressed time frame because

Friday is usually the date is the date in state law where counties have to start sending absentee ballots to people who have requested them.

And Alexander Wilson has asked for a new judge, and it's just all this crazy mess.
