The Mariners have a problem.

No, it's not just that they've lost yesterday.

Overall, it feels like the club is

fine. Cal's heating up. You know, Julio's looking solid. The offense just had a great day. They

just swept a team and I know that they didn't get that win against the twins. But whatever,

game two. Onward, upward, Logan Gilbert on the mound. Blah, blah, blah. We'll talk about it later.

What I want to talk about it later. No.

What I want to talk about is Luis Castillo.

Bump, there is a Luis Castillo problem for the Mariners right now.

And the reason it's a problem is not because Luis is struggling per se.

It's because figuring out how to solve that and what to do with Luis is much more complicated than you think. So first, here's what Dan had to say about Luis's start in cut one.

Dan post game said this. You know, the big blow was the homer, I think,

and that was kind of the tough one. But I was really glad to see him go back out there in the

fifth inning and, you know, get us that fifth inning. And I think that was an inning that

he can really, you know, build on from there, and he finished strong.

Added he can make adjustments? You know, he's a veteran. He knows adjustments that are going to be

made and understands that. And, you know, I know he continues to work. And again, his, you know,

his process over, you know, his last several ball games, he's been getting in the head in the count and attacking the zone, you know, his last several ballgames. He's been getting ahead in the count and attacking the zone.
