Do you know the difference between good radio and bad is how Matt Nelson decided to start the show behind the scenes? It's an honest question. That's fine. The most important things we heard from John Schneider. I'm moving on. Don't let him off the hook. Okay. Oh, it's fine. No, it's fine. It's not fine. It's not fine. I'll have a comeback. Just you wait.

We have so much to get to.

0:55.9

Let's start with Mike McDonald um he chiefly was just asked about flurry um the process in hiring him but

1:04.4

importantly about his lack of play calling experience going into I do think it's a bit over like

1:09.2

bit overrated somebody at some point all play callers have to be first time play callers at some point. You could tell how like Brian thinks about the game that I mean, look, you're going to have to grow into any new role, but we have we have a lot of great people around here and a lot of great opportunities for him to get ready to go. And I'm really confident he's going to be off and running soon than later. So I'm excited about it. It's going to be a fun

process to build this thing. Not worried at all about Florey's lack of play calling experience. Does

1:35.2

it worry you? Yeah, no. I mean, it doesn't worry me, but I know that he's going to have to

1:41.7

deal with some things he's never dealt with before. There's going to be a learning process. You know, there's going to be a learning curve. All that stuff is real. But he's been around the game. He's been on the headset when it's fourth and two and you're deciding to make it a sit when you're trying to decide what you're going to do. He's been on the headset listening when you need to get in the scoring position. You need at least three here. You're backed up on your 20. There's no situation that he hasn't experienced as a football coach. But now he's the guy making the calls. And because he was learning under one of the best play calls of all time in Kyle Shanahan for the past seven years, I feel good about it. I just hope this season, the schedule is set up to where it's like a soft landing.
