The next vice president of the United States, J.D. Vance, Senator from Ohio, joins us now.

J.D., great to have you on the program again.

Good to be with you guys. How are you? We're good, man. Some of us knew you were going to be the VP like six months ago. I'm just saying some of us. There's a record of this stuff out there. I had to buy a stake for Buck. He said that you were going to be the VP pick months and months ago. It's his greatest prediction on the show. So I'm not surprised that he would decide to gloat as we began the interview. Just throwing it out there. That makes one of us, guys, because you knew something buck I didn't know, but good on you. There you go. You know, sometimes the best thing is to throw it into the end zone with your eyes closed. So anyway, my friend, I got lucky on that one.

Tell me this, though. Last night, the Kamala speech, we both watched, meaning Clay and I,

I'm sure you watched it too. It feels like a camp, you know how Seinfeld was a show about nothing?

I mean, it wasn't obviously totally about nothing, but it was just like them living their lives,

and that's how he pitched it to NBC. It's a show about nothing. The Kamala campaign seems to just be a show

about feelings. What is she really trying to accomplish? What is the policy thrust?

Yeah, so I didn't watch the whole speech just because I didn't want to lose 20 IQ points

when I'm underslept thanks to the campaign. But look, I think that what she's trying to do here

is make herself the change agent, right? She's trying to make people forget that she bears

responsibility for the open border, for the inflation, for the inflation Explosion Act, which she cast a deciding vote on. And she's, I think, persuading her party that if they just lie to the American people and try to induce this collective amnesia, everybody's going to forget that she's been the vice president for the past three and a half years. And I just don't think it works, right? It maybe works for one night at the

DNC convention when there's no countervailing narrative, but I don't think that she can run that

message for 75 days. Eventually people are going to say, like, why did you do all these things that made

my life force? And I don't think Kamala has a good answer. Tim Walz is, I think, also a disaster.

But one of the attack lines that they've come after you on, I just think is, regardless

of your politics, absolutely ridiculous.

And I'm curious for you, you graduated from a family that was not doing very well financially,

went into the Marines, went to Ohio State.
