Spring football is in the air.

We've got a number of games this weekend, and we can't wait to talk about a few of them. Good afternoon. Welcome to the next four hours on this Thursday. We are smack in the middle of the month. That headline from the athletic, getting a lot of attention in Lee County, Alabama. The teacher of Auburn football now rests with Alex

Goldish, the American Dream Coach. Who wrote that? Seth Emerson wrote that. Always one of our

favorites to check in with here on a spring day. I mean, I feel I got orange and blue on today, Seth.

I'm all in on the American Dream. Good afternoon and tell us about

your reporting on Alex Golish. Hi, Paul. Yeah, I sat down with Alex Golish last week and,

you know, his very unique background as a immigrant from Russia, I think, has been written about a lot,

but we hadn't and he's new to the SEC, so I thought it was good to address it. And it's not the only part of the story. It's kind of how we get into the story and then talk about what he's doing at Auburn. But, you know, he's a unique person for football. He and his family moved here from the then-dissolving Soviet Union when he was

seven years old. He had never seen an American football. He talked to me about his experience

at elementary school in Brooklyn, getting to know the sport. And then he didn't play college football

at Ohio State,

but he worked his way up the ladder and, you know, he's obviously a millionaire now.

He's Auburn's football coach. He's in a high pressure situation. It's the American dream,

really, his story. But as great as that is, Auburn just wants him to return them to national relevancy.

And, you know, time will tell.

Everybody's looking for the next Kurt Signetti.

We don't know if Alex Golish can be that kind of guy that close to it.

But I did come away from my visit there last week, impressed it the possibility of them winning right away because of how he brought 11 players with him to South Florida, mostly on offense, including his quarterback.

And they retained DJ Durkin to run the defense and a lot of the defensive players.
