Because last night, in Georgia, Juan Soto hits a home run in the first inning.

David Peterson is cruising through seven, and the Mets are on their way to a nice,

neat, and tidy, 4-1 victory against the Atlanta Braves. Put another nail in their coffin. And then all

of a sudden, the demons of the past arrived. And there are many demons from last night's game, whether it's walking the ninth place hitter

Nick Allen to start an inning in which you're up by three runs, to Mendi making the

decision to keep David Peterson in, to Reed Garrett teasing us by getting two outs with the

bases loaded nobody out, to Francisco Averarez, changing his pitch selection with Reid Garrett,

to Marcelo Zuna, who's a disgusting human being,

ripping a game tying double, to Pete Alonzo,

apparently hitting a home run.

But no, not with the baseball's in 2025.
