So the president makes a surprise visit to Ukraine to promise undying support.

Undying is the key word.

Undying support and billions of more of your money for the war effort.

This week, of course, is the one-year anniversary of the war, and he'd already announced he was going to be in Poland this week, but today was a surprise.

Even the press corps was kept in the dark.

He made the visit for the one-year anniversary.

That's what he claims.

That and the fact that he needs the optics of strength at a time when his own party is questioning

if he is too old to run for re-election.

And, of course, his approval numbers are still in the tank.

After a Chinese balloon, of all things, embarrassed him for a week.

He needed a win. He needed a win.

He needed to show strength.

And that's why I am certain that he walked through a city square in Kiev.

I think it was staged all the way down to the air raid signals.

Yeah, that just, that went off at about six seconds into his walk.

From the time he hit the ground through his meeting and a news conference, no air raid signals.

He walks outside, and as I said, after a few seconds, he walks through the door, and he walks into the square, and there's a band playing in the background in tribute to fallen soldiers after one year.

And then the air raid signals go off.

And I don't know if you saw it, but nobody flinched.

Now, I understand if you've been in Ukraine for the past year,

if you've been in Kiev for the past year, you're getting used to the air raid signals.
