So today's a day that free agency begins in Major League

Baseball where you can actually sign people. I don't think it's going to happen this quickly,

but it's out there. If you do have an agreement in place, you can announce it now. A couple of

baseball things that will start with. Number one is that Don Mattingly is leaving the Toronto Blue Jays.

And now I had heard whispers during the season that this could be it for him. You know,

Donnie has a 10-year-old son in his second marriage. He's 64, wants to spend more time with

his kid. And I had heard that he might hang it up.

So when I saw the retirement announcement, I said, well, you know what? Well, what I heard might be

true. But then John Heyman of the New York Post reporting that this is not a retirement, that he is open to other possibilities.

There are still two managerial jobs that are open.

I'm not sure that they would go the Mattingly route.
