I'm reading a headline here, Dwayne Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, receive transphobic

jeers about daughter Ziya as they leave MSG with one individual yelling, you mutilated your

son amid booze.

Here is Dwayne Wade again.

I'm going to play this again because the commentary has been unsurprising but disturbing.

A lot of people who don't love Ziya the way the Wade's do, who aren't impacted in any

way whatsoever by either Ziya or the transphobic community have a lot of very strong opinions

on something that is of essentially zero impact to the entirety of their life and Dwayne

Wade is brave in protecting his daughter this way when he says the following.

What's your message to Ron DeSantis?

I don't know him but I do know men, women, women, and women are numbers don't.

I do know that when our children feel accepted that 43% of our children that feels accepted

from their parents, from the world, it lowers the death rate.

Suicide is high in the trans community, it's high in youth and so I'm going to step on

the side of acceptance and I'm not going to even go on the other side.

I'm just focused on acceptance and so let's make sure our kids have an opportunity to

live this life that we all get to live and it starts with our gun safety laws obviously.

We have a lot of work to do there and our schools but also to in our community which is a

trans community.
