A season on the brink was a popular book on basketball coach Bobby Knight.

It was written by John Feinstein, but it would probably be the perfect title for the 2020 baseball season.

This is truly a season on the brink. Things feel really shaky now.

You had the Marlins COVID outbreak last week. The Cardinals stepped up this week. They're the story.

Their series against the Tigers post poem because 13 members of the organization tested positive.

I love the baseballs back and the league should be in great shape with the Yankees and Dodgers looking like they're the two best teams in their respective leagues.

But two weeks in it's hard to enjoy it because it feels like this is not day to day. It's hour to hour where you're just not quite sure.

I don't know how close the commissioner was to shutting down baseball after what happened to the Marlins and now with the Cardinals.

And maybe you know those are the two hiccups here. I said at the time when the Marlins happened maybe that's your hiccup and baseball will learn from it.

The players will learn from it and then you have the Cardinals situation.

Now you can argue although it's a mood point that baseball should have tried to establish a bubble like the NBA and NHL.

Nothing you can do about it now. And you just have to limit your exposure and hold everyone to a high level of accountability.

Derek Jeeter is the CEO of the Marlins and he had a press conference yesterday where he talked about his players who tested positive.

He wanted to make sure that people understood what was fact and what was fiction.

In our review it was determined we had guys lead to get coffee to get close.

I left to have dinner at a teammate's house. There were no other guests on site. There was no salacious activity.
