Summary

Things are heating up… This week Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum revisit Episode 3 of Smallville: Hothead. They talk about their experience working alongside The Wonder Years alumni Dan Lauria, the difficulty of the fire stunts performed in the episode, and some behind the scenes stories of working on the first episode directed by Greg Beeman. While Michael talks about how this episode highlights why people were drawn to Lex trying to fight his destiny of being the ‘bad guy,’ Tom talks about this being the beginning of Clark being in the right place at the right time. Oh yeah, and we talk about some updates to our death/ save count and other notes that Al and Miles shared on the first couple episodes. Learn more about your ad choices. I was talking to Al Gough, one of the creators of Smallville and asked him what he remembered. First

1:12.7

of all, we've been getting a lot of comments saying that Greg didn't die. The bug guy didn't die and

1:19.0

that he comes back in the homecoming at the season finale. Come on. Yeah. People were commenting.

1:27.7

I know this yet. You wouldn't know. I didn't remember anything. But fans are on top of it.

1:38.7

They're on top of it. Also a good friend, Leah, who's a fan. She said that I didn't count one

1:44.3

of the saves when you saved Lex and the car. We're going to have issues. We're going to miss stuff.

1:51.3

This is fun. We'll try and listen to you and get on track. But Al also remembers that in the

1:58.3

beginning of the episode, beginning of shooting Smallville, this is interesting. The early episodes

2:03.4

have so many stories. They were shooting them out of order up to the last minute and people were

2:08.5

getting fired left and right crazy. He also tells me that, well, I shouldn't give out spoiler alerts,

2:15.5

but how many seasons Whitney was on the show, how many seasons Pete was on the show. But five

2:20.7

directors worked on Metamorphosis episode two, five directors, the episode from last week. They

2:27.6

shot more days than the pilot. They kept shooting and reshooting sequences to get it right.
