Today we're going to be talking about the events that are chronicled in season 2, episode 1 of House of the Dragon,

A Sun for a Sun.

We're going to do readings in Fire and Blood,

the hardcover version from page 414 paragraph 3,

the page 418 paragraph 1, and then we're going to skip to page 422, page 2, to page

426 inclusive. It's a pretty healthy reading. Lots of stuff to talk about. This is your first time through

to material, so I thought maybe we could start with you, King Jim Harris. What leapt out at you in terms of book

versus show? I mean, maybe just because it's at the beginning of this reading but

Jase going to the Vale and all these other places like we don't see any of that in the show we just see him at Winterfell and I thought it was you know we hear he comes back and says yeah

Lady Arra wants a dragon that kind of stuff.

But I thought it was fun.

I mean, mushrooms involved, so it's always fun

when mushrooms involved to see the goings on there. And all of the marriage proposals,

some of which can't happen, because the characters,

I don't think exist in the show.

Or at least if they do exist we haven't been privy to them yet much like a

day-round kind of character. Yeah I found it interesting to see all the machinations the Jace went through up in the north or on his way.

Yeah, a pretty accomplished statesman for a young age. I was kind of curious about that too because I thought it's like oh I think he just

double promised a brother because I misread Joffrey as Luceris for some reason.
