Shortly after 9 a.m. local time in France, an assailant carried out an attack, an

knife attack or an attack using some kind of blade inside the basilica of the church

of Notre Dame in this Riviera city in the south of France.

Three people were dead.

The mayor says that one was decapitated.

The police were told was alerted by a bystander who was able to activate some kind of alarm alert

system or somehow war and law enforcement bystanders say that they were there very quickly.

They then opened fire and they shot the assailants who is now receiving medical care.

The mayor of Nese says that he was saying the words a la akbar and repeating them.
