Hey, this is Meredith Foster. When you think about who you are,

where did those beliefs come from? For so many of us, our sense of identity has been shaped by the

voices around us, by expectations or approval, by what we've been told we're supposed to be,

or by what we've learned just to survive.

Hosanna Wong knows that struggle all too well.

Long before millions of people saw her viral spoken word poem, I Have a New Name.

Hosanna was wrestling with the temptation to find her worth in all the wrong places,

performance, approval,

belonging, even ministry. Hosanna grew up hearing about how God radically transformed her father's life on the streets of San Francisco. She found her voice through spoken word poetry. After college,

she packed up her old Toyota Corolla and spent years on the road saying yes to

churches and camps and prisons, preaching and performing poetry. And all the while, God was

healing her broken heart. But the poem that would eventually inspire thousands to memorize it,

share it, and declare it. It wasn't written for an audience.
