Hello, Rob Coakley. And by Jesse Wilkins. Hi there. And we are reviewing the 2024 film

Heretic today, one that I've been waiting to review with these guys. We've all finally

gotten to watch it. I'm excited to knock out this review.

Maybe we'll do a little bonus at the end,

put these guys on the spot,

and give our top three horror movies of 2024.

But before we do that, Dave, I need a synopsis.

I can do that.

Heretic, 2024, directed by Scott Beck and Brian Woods. Two young missionaries become ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they knock on the door of the diabolical

Mr. Reed. Trapped in his home, they must turn to their faith if they want to make it out alive.

So I was late to the game with this movie.

I had known it was out for a while.

I had heard a lot of good things about it.

I knew what it was about, but I just recently got around to watching it.

And I will say this is definitely one of the better movies from 2024, as far as horror goes.

Is it the best? I don't know. Probably not.

But it is definitely without question the most thought-provoking, in my opinion. This movie I thought was gripping in the sense, just isn't like a philosophical sense and the ideas they threw at you

and the way they challenged different ways of thinking,

I thought was very interesting. Add on top of that, the suspense, the horror, and I thought it was

really well put together. And you kind of had that A24 vibe of like really deep conversations
