The Welcome back to the evolution of horror. My name is Mike and as ever I am your host.

If you're tuning in for the first time then welcome in this

podcast we usually explore and dissect the evolution of the horror genre by

looking at particular sub-jomres across several weeks. We've completed four whole

seasons. One season on the evolution of the slasher,

another on ghosts, another on folk horror and the latest season which finished earlier this year

on the evolution of the zombie movie. Now, we will be back very soon

with a brand new series exploring

the evolution of the occult in horror cinema.

However, this week we're bringing you

a little bonus episode because we've just reached the end of the

incredible London Film Festival. Now for those of you who don't know the London Film Festival

is probably the biggest film festival that goes on in the UK all year round. Hundreds and

hundreds of movie premieres that happen across sort of two weeks in October every

year and amongst those movies we saw a whole bunch of incredible horror movies so me and my co-host are going to run through some of our picks for the best horror and cult and genre movies that we saw at this year's LFF. Now all of these reviews will be

completely spoiler free. We will not do deep dives into any of these movies because

we're aware not many people out there have seen them yet so we simply are going

to give you a list of

recommendations and movies to look out for hopefully in the upcoming few months.

Not only that you'll also hear some snippets from some fantastic directors that I got the chance to interview

including director of Under the Shadow and Woons Babak and Vari, director of the
