And today we are joined by Texas head baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle.

The Longhorns are getting ready to open the season, February 13th, against UC Davis.

Coach, we appreciate you taking some time for us.

You had the alumni game, and that's always the signal that the season is about to begin.

How excited, prepared do you think your team is for the beginning of the season?

Well, first of all, thanks for having me on, Chip, Eric.

Appreciate you guys.

Appreciate all you do for us.

Yeah, we're excited.

I mean, there's no doubt about it, especially since I'm not sure what

signals the beginning of college baseball more, the alumni game or 40 degree weather. But we have

a great weather week this week. And I would say we're anxiously awaiting the start of the season.

I think every coach would like a little more

practice time, but at the same time, you really don't get to figure out what your team's all about

until you start playing the game. So we need one more weekend of inter-squad games and getting

some guys at bats, but we're definitely ready to go and definitely ready to play in front of a crowd and

against, you know, another team.

The, you know, the sense is that you have tons of pitching and you got to have pitching.

You got to have depth of pitching.
