This is part two of the two-part series, hopeful and afraid.

So in this episode, we're going to talk in more detail about what it feels like to the survivor to kind of walk through a more private

non-law enforcement-based investigation. So we've been talking about what criminal investigations

feel like. And I really want to make sure we highlight the important difference of criminal

investigation, beyond a reasonable

doubt is an appropriate burden of proof. But out here in the regular world, even in civil lawsuits,

that is not the burden of proof. It is preponderance of the evidence, 51%. Like, that's all we're

looking for here. So that's the criminal side. Is the high burden of proof out here, not the same thing.

But still, even other kinds of investigations feel a certain way to the survivor.
