Let me read from 1 Peter chapter 3, this text that we'll be in tonight, starting in verse 15.

Peter says, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.

Yet do this with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience so that when you are slandered those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.

For it is better to suffer for doing good if that be God's will than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison because they formally did not obey when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared in which a few that is 8 persons were brought safely through water.

Baptism, which corresponds to this now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ who was gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels, authorities and powers having been subjected to him.

Let me pray. Father, would you pray just like St. James prayed that you would use your word to speak and instruct our hearts tonight, that the message that Peter gave to your church long ago of where our hope is found, of what to do in the face of suffering and just how the spirit of Christ has for centuries and centuries been at work in the people of Christ.

The people of God, like Noah and Saints today and Saints are generations, to work and to proclaim about the salvation that's found in you alone, would that happen here tonight, Lord?

Would anything that I say that's not consistent with your word be forgotten as soon as it is said, but would you derive the truth and the principles found in your teachings here?

I would be deeper into our hearts. I pray for anyone who does not have assurance that if something was to happen to their life that they would spend it with you forever and ever and ever, that tonight you would win.

We love you. Thank you that over all things you've already won and that your victory is certain.

I'm going to start with a little bit of a question just to think on, what do you hope in?

What do you hope in? What are some of the things that you find hope in?

It may be the amount of money in your bank account that you're like, even if I lost my job, things would be okay.

Maybe the way that you look, you find assurance because you go to the mirror and you're like, yep, I'm still there, still looking good.

Maybe the relationship that you have with a boyfriend or girlfriend or a plan that you see in your life, where do you put your hope?

I saw an extreme example of what it looks like to put your hope in something recently this past week.

I read an article that someone sent me yesterday and it was related to something called a new trend called a billionaire bunker.

There's these new things that I guess because of the climate kind of in a world in North Korea and who else knows what else is going on.

Specifically, within a specific class at Bernie Sanders is really passionate about.

The top 1% are investing in something called billionaire bunkers.

That they are taking these bunkers that we're using in World War II.
